Reviews Will Help Small Businesses During Covid-19
Part 1 of 5 of my blog series titled How to Thrive as a Small Business During Covid-19 has a lot to do with the word REVIEW.
Here’s the Intro post if you missed it.
I think it’s safe to say that all businesses have had to pivot in how they do business. The “New Normal” as many call it, has left many of us thinking about new ways to connect with our audience in ways we’ve never had to think of before Covid-19. Some businesses are actually doing very well, but many are struggling greatly. When the fog lifts, a good way to help other businesses thrive is to leave a Google Review. These reviews are an easy way to help businesses create a reputation, earn brand trust and help them rank on local SEO.
Now is a perfect time to work on business branding
I created this Business Growth Challenge PDF which you can download and print. During the next week, I’m challenging all of us to:
Give 5 Reviews
Get 5 Reviews
Send 5 “just checking in” calls/emails
Create 5 small business goals
Give 5 Reviews
Take a few minutes to jot down some businesses that would really appreciate a little boost from a review! Some may not have a Google My Business Account, but if you feel inclined ask them where they would like a review (perhaps it’s Yelp or a similar industry specific platform). This is a simple way to help build other small businesses brand.

This is also a good opportunity to request previous clients to leave a review for you! If you don’t have a Google My Business Account, it’s fairly easy to setup. It does require Google sending you a postcard in the mail so that you can verify with a code but it’s not difficult to setup.
I’ve created these videos to show my clients how to leave a Google review whether you’re on a computer or a mobile device.
5 “just checking in calls or emails”
Reach out to past clients and just check in with them. Business is hard to come by these days but a reach-out goes a long way to create life long clients. And we all could use a little human connection these days! Don’t forget old friends too!
5 small business goals
This week, create 5 small things to propel your business forward. They don’t have to be huge tasks, but do something to help you feel like you’re moving in the right direction!
Happy reviewing!
