Relax During Covid-19

Part 3 of 5 of my blog series titled How to Thrive as a Small Business During Covid-19 has a lot to do with the word RELAX.

I’ve personally been on a roller coaster of emotion.  Some days, I’m a mess and have terrible anxiety.  Other days I feel like I’m handling distance learning and balancing things really well.  Sometimes it’s a minute to minute change, and that’s OK!  There is no ‘right’ way to be during a worldwide pandemic.  Organize every nook in your home, or watch every movie on Netflix…it doesn’t matter.

One surprising way that helped me turn the anxiety corner was building Lego sets with my boys! After they build a new set the pieces get thrown into a huge bag of Legos so they can “freestyle” build. We went on a quest to rebuild all the sets. I never knew I liked doing Lego sets, but I’m not surprised since I love puzzles too!  It’s soothing and has shockingly reduced my stress levels immensely.

Worrying is easy, but put your focus on possibility instead of discomfort.

What’s your thing that helps you de-stress?  Lately I’ve been waking up early (very challenging for this night owl, but I need a few hours with the house totally quiet).  Some days I’ll even write in a Gratitude journal.

I also love Grace Space, Insight Timer and Calm.  Breath work and meditation is really important…especially during times like these. Taking care of ourselves can lead to clarity around our business.
